Prof. Dr. Kwan-Hoong Ng
Department of Biomedical Imaging, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Professor Dr. Ng received his M.Sc. (Medical Physics) from University of Aberdeen and Ph.D. (Medical Physics) from University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is certified by the American Board of Medical Physicist. Professor Ng was honored as one of the top 50 medical physicists in the world by the International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP) in 2013. He has authored/coauthored over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 25 book chapters; co-edited 5 books. He has presented over 500 scientific papers, more than 300 are invited lectures. He has also organized and directed several workshops on radiology quality assurance, digital imaging and scientific writing. He is the co-founder and co-editor in chief of the open-access e-journal ‘biomedical imaging and intervention journal’ (www.biij.org). His main research contribution has been in breast imaging, in particular breast density. He has also been directing research initiatives in intervention radiology, radiological safety and radiation dosimetry. Dr. Ng has been serving as an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) consultant and a member of International Advisory Committee of the World Health Organization. He had served as a consulting expert for the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). He is the Founding President of the South East Asian Federation of Medical Physics and is the Immediate President of the Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics.

Dr. Jeannie Hsiu-Ding Wong

Dr. Jeannie Hsiu-Ding Wong is a senior lecturer at the Department of Biomedical Imaging, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She received her Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Malaya in the year of 2003. In 2004, Dr. Wong obtained Master of Medical Physics from University of Malaya before moving to Australia for her doctoral degree at University of Wollongong. She obtained her PhD in 2011. Dr. Wong’s research interests focus on radiation physics and radiation dosimetry. She had published 23 peer-reviewed articles, 7 conference proceedings and more than 15 scientific papers in both local and international conferences to date. She had also been invited as speakers at various conferences and seminars organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Health, Malaysian Nuclear Agency and University of Malaya. 

Dr. Marco Petasecca

School of Physics and Centre for Medical Radiation Physics, University of Wollongong, Australia

 

Dr. Marco Petasecca is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Researcher at the School of Physics and Centre for Medical Radiation Physics (CMRP) of University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia. As a former researcher in space applications and expert in solid state physics, his main focus at CMRP has been the design and development of silicon sensors and electronic readout systems for radiation detection. His recent research interests include instrumentation for in-vivo and pre-treatment Quality Assurance in adaptive motion radiotherapy, brachytherapy and Hadron therapy modalities.

Dr. Ikuo Kobayashi 
Nagase Landauer Ltd., Japan

 

Dr. Ikuo Kobayashi graduated from the Kinki University with a bachelor degree in Nuclear Reactor Engineering in 1975. He then joined Nagase Landauer Ltd. in 1975 and was in charge for the measurement of personal dosimeters using film badges. In 2003, he graduated from the Kinki University with a doctorate degree in Engineering. By 2008, Dr. Kobayashi joined the overseas business of OSL dosimeters of Nagase Landauer Ltd. and became a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Radiological Sciences. Currently, he is in charge of the technical office sales support for Nagase Landauer Ltd. Dr. Kobayashi has participated in the system development of OSL dosimeters since 1999 and became an official member of the ISO TC85 SC2 (Radiation Protection) from 1998 to 2013.

Ms. Zulaikha Jamaluddin

Department of Oncology, University of Malaya Medical Centre, Malaysia

 

Ms. Zulaikha Jamalludin graduated from the University of Science Malaysia (USM) with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Radiation in 2004. She then started her career as a science officer in USM. In 2006, she served the University Kuala Lumpur-Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL-RCMP) as a lecturer for radiography program. In 2008, she enrolled in the Master in Medical Radiation Physics in the University of Technology MARA (UiTM). Currently, she is serving as medical physicsts at the University of Malaya Medical Centre. Her research interests lies in Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) and Brachytherapy.
